What We Do

 

The mission of Vine & Fig Educational Outreach Program is to educate and empower area youth around food and gardening. Our goals are to enable youth to engage with their local food system by learning how to grow nutritious plants, reduce food waste and become environmental stewards in their communities.

We focus on ​innovative sustainability projects that are unique to our urban setting. These include:

  • permaculture 

  • edible landscaping

  • gray water recycling

  • stream restoration

All these take place in our urban context in a way that engages the local community
